Only 1 in 40 has access to a hearing aid. 8-10 % of Pakistanis suffer some degree of ear damage and hearing loss.

Pakistan Ear Foundation’s vision is to provide a better quality of life for the hearing impaired community of Pakistan through the provision of better ear and hearing care.

 
A Pakistan where every individual with hearing impairment has access to comprehensive ear and hearing care services, enabling them to communicate effectively and participate fully in society.

To improve the quality of life for hearing-impaired individuals in Pakistan through accessible ear and hearing care services, prevention programs, rehabilitation, and advocacy.

  1. Service Delivery
    1. Provide comprehensive ear care services, hearing aids, and cochlear implants
    2. Establish hearing screening programs, including neonatal screening
    3. Deliver rehabilitation communication services including AVT, speech therapy, sign language, and lip reading
  2. Awareness and Prevention
    1. Raise public awareness about ear care, deafness, and hearing loss prevention
    2. Implement community-based hearing screening initiatives
    3. Develop an action plan for the initiation of a joint program with WWH called AUDIO 2020 program to address global and national hearing loss prevention
  3. Advocacy and Policy
    1. Campaign for improved laws and policies affecting the hearing-impaired community
    2. Advocate for better education opportunities for deaf and hearing-impaired children
    3. Strengthen the rights and social inclusion of hearing-impaired individuals
  4. Capacity Building
    1. Develop training programs in audiology and hearing health care
    2. Build leadership at multiple organizational levels
    3. Train professionals working with hearing impairment issues
    4. Strengthen infrastructure and human resources
  5. Research and Innovation
    1. Establish a national research network for ear and hearing health
    2. Conduct social, medical, and technical research
    3. Promote evidence-based decision-making and practice

    1. Build strategic alliances with institutions, NGOs, and manufacturers
    2. Establish a purchasing consortium for cost-effective procurement

Pakistan Ear Foundation organizes temporal bone workshops at least twice a year for the training of ENT surgeons.

Pakistan Ear foundation, with the help of ENT surgeons and Audiologists, holds ear camps in underprivileged areas for improvement and awareness of better ear care.

 

Pakistan Ear Foundation helps patients and families to get free hearing aids. Pakistan ear foundation helps partial funding for cochlear implants as well as hearing aids.

Pakistan Ear Foundation regularly holds workshops and meetings to provide continuous education for Audiologists and Speech Language Therapists.
Pakistan Ear Foundation also supports the education of students in the fields of Audiology and Speech Pathology.
